Our names are Morgan Spehar, Jayne Yerrick and Sianna Mills and we are the editors (and founders!) of The Athens Effect, Ohio University’s only student-run science publication.

This publication began in 2018, when the three of us were freshmen. We came on to campus with a passion for writing about science, environmentalism, psychology, sociology and research, but noticed there wasn’t a publication that focused only on science.

Fast forward a year and The Athens Effect has been born! We are hoping to bring you only the highest quality stories about science here in Athens and the effect that science has on the rest of the world.
